Impact Grant Beneficiary

Boys & Girls Clubs of Tucson (BGCT), $685,459
Angel Charity for Children has committed $685,459 to fund renovations and equipment upgrades at the Steve Daru Clubhouse. This funding will be used to create a dedicated teen technology-enabled learning space, modernize the gymnasium, and make facility-wide improvements. These enhancements are not simply a facility upgrade; they are a strategic investment in expanded access, stronger outcomes, and long-term opportunities for Tucson kids who need it most.
The Steve Daru Clubhouse serves as an entry for youth in Tucson’s growing north side, connecting them to BGCT’s continuum of programs, including innovative Teen Tech & Workforce Readiness programs that prepare the youth for the jobs of today and tomorrow. Renovations will create a dedicated teen space for technology, mentorship, workforce and leadership programs, providing more teens with opportunities to develop skills that translate to success in school and life. Gym upgrades will enhance physical education, wellness, and recreation, encouraging good health, teamwork, and resilience. Across the Clubhouse, modernized upgrades will provide an environment where all children thrive.
For more than six decades, BGCT has given school-aged youth aged 7-18 safe, supportive places to grow and feel hopeful about their future. Through their Clubhouses, they have delivered programs that give kids practical skills and meaningful opportunities to succeed. Core services include homework help and tutoring; hands-on STEM activities; leadership development and civic engagement; healthy meals and wellness programs; and post-secondary prep and career planning.
The modernized Steve Daru Clubhouse will fully engage teens during the years when they are making decisions that shape their futures. These greatly needed renovations will ensure that the Clubhouse can continue to serve at-risk and underserved kids with the space and support they need when it matters most.
