RONALD MCDONALD HOUSE OF
SOUTHERN ARIZONA
ANGEL CHARITY ISOLATION WING
$550,000
|
 |
Since 1981, the Ronald McDonald House has provided a loving
home-away-from home for thousands of families whose ill or injured
children received treatment at one of Tucson's distinguished medical
centers. The Ronald McDonald House meets families' needs for
temporary accommodations, especially in isolation rooms. These
special rooms house families and children - usually bone marrow transplant
patients - who have been discharged from the hospital, but must remain
nearby for frequent out-patient treatments.

|
In 2005, Angel Charity awarded $550,000 to the Ronald McDonald
House of Southern Arizona
to build twelve isolation rooms in the new 28 room, 30,000 s.f. Ronald
McDonald House to be constructed on the site of UMC North at Campbell Ave
and Allen Rd. These isolation rooms are designed to be home-like, yet
separated from the rest of the facility to help ensure that the compromised
immune systems of the young patients are not further jeopardized. |

Habitat for Humanity Tucson
High School Building Program
$120,000
|
 |
The mission of Habitat for Humanity is
to end poverty housing in Southern Arizona and to make affordable housing
a matter of community conscience and action. The "High School
Building Program" graduates young people who are armed with marketable
building skills, with an understanding of our community's need for
affordable housing, and with a robust philanthropic ethic.
|
|
In 2005, Angel Charity also raised
$120,000 to help sustain Habitat for Humanity's "High School Building
Program" for at least one year at four high schools. It is Habitat's
hope that this will leverage additional community funding to expand the
program to two more high schools. By partnering with Angel Charity,
Habitat for Humanity can continue its passion, aspiration and legacy to
improve children's lives and to both literally and figuratively build
community in Tucson. |
