STEELE MEMORIAL

CHILDREN'S RESEARCH CENTER (CRC)

COMPREHENSIVE PROGRAM

FOR CHILDREN WITH DIABETES

CRC provides clinical care to children throughout Arizona, including virtually all of the Native American reservations.  In addition to specialized patient care, the Center provides training for physicians and other health care professionals.  CRC collaborates with researchers around the world in many disciplines, including endocrinology, biochemistry, cell biology, immunology, physiology, pharmacology and toxicology.

In 2001, Angel Charity raised $750,000 for Steele Memorial Children's Research Center to create a comprehensive program for Children with Diabetes.  Funds were used to renovate a 3,300 square foot outdated and under-utilized laboratory space that houses a comprehensive program to fight diabetes.  Diabetes has no cure and is the most prevalent chronic children's disease.  The Angel gift  enables the Center to quadruple the number of children with diabetes helped from 100 to 400 as well as provides training and funds for research.
