The Community Food Bank acquires, stores and
distributes food to other organizations that provide food to children and
families in need. Of the million or so pounds of food distributed
each month, 2/3's is consumed by children. Angel
Charity raised $50,966 in 1999 for the Community Food Bank to
acquire a new International 20-foot stake bed truck that replaced an
older, smaller one. This effectively increased their the Food Bank's
ability to distribute fresh fruits and vegetables by at least 50%, from
300,000 to 450,000 pounds per year. |
