Dear Friends of Angel Charity,
We are proud to announce that due to the generosity of our individual donors, foundations and corporate partners, over ONE MILLION children in Pima County have a better life. With the support of our loyal donors and dedicated volunteers, Angel Charity for Children, Inc. has been improving the lives of Pima County’s children for 30 years.
This year our membership has committed to raise $787,750 to benefit the following three agencies:
STEELE CHILDREN’S RESEARCH CENTER will receive $537,230 to increase the clinical trials available through Children’s Oncology Group so that our children will have access to all protocols available nationally; and to expand the basic cancer research to increase the development of new future treatments.
EASTER SEALS BLAKE FOUNDATION will receive $180,000 to provide two years of support for their tuition program which provides sliding fee scale child care tuition assistance for children of low-income, working families. This center provides full-day, full-year child care for at-risk children ages eight weeks to five years. The majority of children who attend this center live below the poverty level and one-third have a significant disability or developmental delay.
TUCSON VILLAGE FARM will receive $70,520 to provide two and one-half years of management support for their volunteer program. This farm is a working urban farm built by and for the youth of our community. Their goal is to reconnect young people to a healthy food system through the delivery of a seed-to-table curriculum.
